Oriana unfolds as a sequence of richly layered spaces within the pre-modern bones of 174 Mott Street: a sapele-clad cocktail bar visible from the Nolita sidewalk, a warmly shadowed dining room, and below, a red-saturated wine cellar with hidden private dining and a vinyl listening lounge. Brown stone floors, crafted wood furnishings, leather banquettes, and a carefully curated contemporary art collection create a refined atmosphere that feels quietly eccentric and distinctly downtown.
A long hallway connects the restaurant’s rooms, lingering in the transitions between them. The softly lit honey onyx bar offers a glimpse of the experience from the street, while the dining room centers around a vibrant open kitchen framed in red marble and a monumental three-panel painting by Tunji Adeniyi-Jones. Below, the cellar’s deep red epoxy floors, wine casings, and original stone walls frame a vinyl listening room and private dining room.
