Modellus Novus partnered with environmental design studio FOOD New York to create executive offices for BSE Global, the parent company of Barclays Center and the Brooklyn Nets. Guests enter through an art gallery and move into a lounge with a 44-foot long Creme de Moss limestone coffee bar that doubles as a reception desk. The lounge features a large digital display with live footage of the stadium’s events. This is one of two highly social spaces, the second being a formal interior garden with monolithic stone seating and hedges, drawing continuity with the use of the same stone at the coffee bar.
The garden is fostered by grow lights and helps provide a setting for intimate conversations in an otherwise uniquely open plan. Executive offices and conference rooms are fully enclosed in glass with automatic privacy shades. The Nets war room was placed in a serene corner of the office – the heart of decision-making for one of the NBA’s premier franchises and used throughout the year to negotiate trades.
